This game was made at the 2 Hr GameJam Club July 2023 at Wonderville in Brooklyn. Thanks to Blake Andrews and Wonderville for hosting the jam.

The prompt for all was this Wikipedia entry: an episode of the TV series Modern Family.

In that episode, Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) has stayed back to look after Alex (Ariel Winter) and Luke (Nolan Gould). He serves them soy bacon for breakfast without knowing that Luke is allergic to soy, so they rush to the emergency room. While there, Alex enjoys proving herself to be smarter than the training doctors although later passes out while watching a c-section.

Meanwhile (not in the episode), Stephen Sondheim composed and wrote the lyrics for the musical Sunday in the Park with George. It was inspired by the French pointillist painter Georges Seurat's painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.

One of the song's, Color & Light, is a song about the process of getting lost in a creative flow. Sondheim was inspired to write it after an all-night, 12-hour long party game design session in the late 1960s. In it, Seurat sings each color in his pointillist painting. That seemed like a good fit for a Flickgame.

This is a puzzle game that asks: Can you make Seurat's bacon sing? And it is called Soy and Light, bringing together Modern Family and Sondheim.

(oh, and Midjourney was used to create a model of a soy bacon in pointillism with "a sketch of soy bacon in the style of george Seurat using only dots of yellow white blue orange and red")

BEST PLAYED FULL SCREEN.
